The last phrase, minced. In time with your song. Free, forever · VST3, AU and standalone app on macOS · VST3 on Windows.
“Kıyma” is Turkish for mince. KIYMA listens to the channel it sits on, keeps the last complete block of bars, cuts it into steps and decides, step by step, whether to play the step that belongs there or to jump to another one nearby. The block is always played back in one bar: two bars squeezed into one come out an octave up, half a bar stretched over one an octave down.
The switch bank holds five tuned settings: LEAN (no chop, one bar replayed), MINCE (two bars in one), CHUNK (eight big slices), GRISTLE (four bars in one, 32 steps) and BONE (half a bar stretched). Raise a switch and all eight knobs jump to it; turn any of them and the switch drops by itself.
KIYMA follows the tempo, bar position and time signature of the DAW and only reads audio that has already arrived, so it adds no latency. The chop patterns are fixed tables: there is no randomness in the sound, so the same settings on the same song always give the same result, at any buffer size.
